Mrs Karen Vermeulen
BSc BTech Optom MCOptom
Karen originally started her career as a Hospital Optometrist in South Africa where she graduated from WITS in Johannesburg.
After her move to England she completed the non-EEA examination at City University and moved into a high end retail practice for three years.
After this she spent eight years working as a Domiciliary Optometrist which was extremely rewarding and she gained a wealth of experience in dealing with patients with dementia and learning disabilities alongside diagnosing and proposing the best course of action for ocular diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and cataracts.
Having joined Osborne Harle in January 2015 she has become PEARS accredited which further allows her to manage acute eye conditions.
She enjoys working with a wide variety of patients and all the challenges that entails.
Dr. Deacon E Harle
PhD MSc BSc (Hons) FCOptom DipOC DipTp (AS) DipTp (IP)
Dr Deacon Harle is an Independent Prescribing Specialty Optometrist. He holds a bachelor degree in Ophthalmic Optics, a masters degree in Clinical Optometry and a PhD in Optometry. He has post graduate diplomas in Ocular Conditions and in Ocular Therapeutics (Additional Supply and Independent Prescribing), which means he can offer a more extensive range of ocular medicine advice and treat eye related disorders as a non-medical prescriber. He was awarded a Fellowship of the College of Optometrists for his contribution to optometric research and education and is a General Optical Council specialty registered optometrist.
Dr Harle holds a post of Practitioner with a Special Interest (PwSI) in Ophthalmology and offers NHS Community Ophthalmology Clinics based at the Eye Department of Tunbridge Wells Hospital and at Osborne Harle.
Mrs Nicola J Harle
BSc (Hons) MCOptom
Nicola Harle (neé Osborne) established Osborne Harle with her husband. Following a period of private practice in Kensington, London, during which she became interested in contact lenses as well as spectacle fashion and design; she took a career break when her children were young. She is now back in part time clinical practice in addition to her role as Operations Director.
Mrs Harle holds a Bachelor degree in Ophthalmic Optics, membership of the College of Optometrists and is a General Optical Council registered optometrist.
Mrs Julie Moss
Julie provides support to both the clinical team and the spectacle dispensing team. She will often be the one to first welcome you to the practice either in our dispensing department or at the reception desk.
Mrs Jackie Neale
Mrs Jackie Neale is a qualified dispensing optician and has been part of the Osborne Harle and Associates team since the practice opened. She is now at the practice on a part time basis. Mrs Neale has a particular interest in spectacle dispensing for sports and swimming but can give advice on all areas of spectacle dispensing.
Mrs Neale is a Fellow of the Association of British Dispensing Opticians and is a General Optical Council registered optician.
Mrs Emma Cottle
Mrs Emma Cottle is a qualified dispensing optician, and part of the Osborne Harle spectacle dispensing team. She brings a wealth of experience to the practice and is able to offer spectacle dispensing advice across the board; from high-end fashion spectacle frames queries to complex and clinical spectacle lens dispensing conundrums.
Mrs Cottle is a Fellow of the Association of British Dispensing Opticians and is a General Optical Council registered optician.
Mrs Rachel Buckley
Mrs. Rachel Buckley is our part time receptionist providing valuable extra support on our busy days.
