Karen Vermeulen

BSc (Hons) MCOptom

Optometrist

Karen originally started her career as a Hospital Optometrist in South Africa where she graduated from WITS in Johannesburg.

After her move to England she completed the non-EEA examination at City University and moved into a high end retail practice for three years.

After this she spent eight years working as a Domiciliary Optometrist which was extremely rewarding and she gained a wealth of experience in dealing with patients with dementia and learning disabilities alongside diagnosing and proposing the best course of action for ocular diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and cataracts.

Having joined Osborne Harle in January 2014 she has become PEARS accredited which further allows her to manage acute eye conditions.

She enjoys working with a wide variety of patients and all the challenges that entails.
